The tide was high and the moon had just began making it's rounds across the open sky. Stars littered the edge of the fading borders of day-light, the lavish purple of the sunset playing prey to the growing darkness of the night's quilt. Still, a thin wind blew across the ocean, giving birth to a collection of miniature waves that would soon be enveloped into the greater tides that crashed against the rocks, bordering the cliff Michael stood on now, and bringing up a wave of spray and foam that coated the higher edges of the rock. Michael had four brothers. The first was his Aniki - the only living person on the island to truly care for him. But the other three were, to him, closer than that. Their names were Earth, Sea and Sky. Since the death of his earthly family, Michael had grown into the family of Mother Earth. Living on an island, there never was a moment you weren't exposed to the elements. Highlanders often tried to ignore that fact, as they preferred to think of themselves as higher-ups compared to the world around them. But Michael knew better than any other person that humans were victims of circumstance, not their own version of fate. Standing and stepping back from his seat, Michael took his bow and began to play, strumming the hair of it across the strings just above the crown. Normally, he would treat the stars to a deep and lifting show, giving them a chance to dance and spin out from their place in the sky. But tonight just didn't fit the mood. The cloudless night gave him an empty stare as the ocean waves twiddled their limbs in a melancholic attempt to continue on. He took a moment to recollect before jamming his bow down the strings, a sharp and ear-splitting screech arising to surprise both him and whatever else could be listening. Micheal looked to the sky, but could just as easily said to himself; " Not satisfied, are you now?" He drew his bow again and began a soft tune; a mix of pending anger, aggregated with a mix of sorrow and covered up with a hint of pride and forced satisfaction. The wind, in turn, lifted him onto his feet once again as he began to play. It was his song, indeed, that brought the island's bank to life. Where he had learned to play, know one knew. But he was raised in class and gentlemanliness, his carefree dance, in turn with his partner violin, created a lively and joyous scene when compared to the depressing ocean cries. He smiled as the leaved began to let go of their branches and spin along with him. It was as if the entire world was watching him play, yet, no one was there. He was alone; alone with everything he would ever think to need. [[excuse the long intro :'D if curious, here is the song he is playing: www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvGIQhMtToY&feature=related]]

“Ahh… today was just too tiring!” Yong-soo exclaimed as he wandered aimlessly into a forest, guitar case slung over his shoulder. Yong-soo’s statement was true. He’d been practicing all day for an upcoming performance and he was nearly wiped out.
It took a while for Yong-soo to realize that the sun had almost set and it took him even longer to realize that he had no idea where he was going. As he walked further and further in, his ears caught the sweet sound of someone playing a violin. Yong-soo decided to follow that sound since it had gotten dark and he was already lost (thanks to his genius wandering…) in the forest. He finally reached the far side of the forest where the land jutted outward above the sea. Yong-soo’s eyes caught the silhouette of a figure standing on the cliff, playing a violin.

Michael's stature played puppet to the according notes. The wind had picked up and allowed a misty breeze to present itself challenger to his instrument. Normally, one would never dare play in this sort of humidity; but you should know by now that Michael doesn't exactly play by those rules. He allowed himself a moment to switch to a more soothing melody. The moon was high, signaling it time to turn in for the night. He knew his older brother would be worried and may even call his cell (that he left at home, of course), but going as he was, Michael refused to end there. At times, Michael felt it just wasn't his native tongue used in Solus. Taking a breath, he began to sing. Not as open as he would have wished, but nonetheless a slur of words that eventually played aide to his instrument. His gathering of made-up words made sense only to him; that was the way he wanted it, after all. [[new song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXQLrkW33f0]]

Yong-soo was tempted to surprise the violinist by hugging up on him from behind but the fact that he was a complete stranger kept him from doing so (he was hit over the head by a bass clarinet the last time he’d tried that on someone and he didn’t want a repeat of that incident.) He walked out from behind the tree line as the violinist switched to a different song.
Yong-soo sat down a few feet away from him and listened as the other started to sing. The words were quite foreign to him but they made the song all the more beautiful. He listened for a while before taking his guitar out of its case and playing alongside the violinist. It felt strange to harmonize to a song he’d never heard before but it also felt as if he knew the song by heart.

Michael had never been to an actual musical performance of any sort. Nor had he seen any on television or over the radio, either. So with the sudden rise of an accompanier, Micheal didn't know what to think. His instrument wasn't able to reach those levels of tuning; was it the wind? Or maybe he just hadn't cleaned the crown in a while...no, it wasn't that. It sounded good, not bad. Actually, it sounded wonderful. Michael smiled and tested out this new found skill, quickly switching to a basic pattern of notes any instrumentalist would know by heart.
His simple amusement was quickly crushed as he turned to keep the wind from going against him, realizing that it wasn't just him keeping the melody, but another figure. Michael brought his bow to a slow but deep halt just halfway through the last few beats and sighed, his night ruined.

Yong-soo was wrenched back to reality when the music stopped. He looked up at the other who had finally noticed he was there. He gave a nervous smile before standing up, seeing that the violinist didn’t look very pleased with seeing him there. He took a deep breath and lifted his head to the sky before looking back at the person in front of him.
“Sorry. I got a little lost back there,” Yong-soo said, pointing his thumb toward the trees. “And I heard you playing so I ended up here… Anyway, sorry if I ruined anything…”
Yong-soo placed his guitar back in its case and paused for a while before saying, “I’m Yong-soo, by the way. You?”

"That's a weird name." He didn't bother answering the other man's questions. "Anyways, how did you get lost? It's at least two miles here from the main road. You a Lowlander or something?"
He tried not to sound insulting, the man was only curious after all, but Michael couldn't help it - he sounded like a jerk.
Entering into one of those awkward moments in which all you can think about is wanting to climb into a hole and poof away into some other world, Michael bowed to the man and looked to him, this time in the eye, "Sorry. I'm Michael, by the way."

[[Gosh, that hurt, da-ze and sorry, it’s a bit short… xPP]]
Yong-soo was slightly taken aback by the other’s curt response but ignored it, plastering a smile on his face and nodding at the apology.
“Well, I guess it is a bit weird…” Yong-soo replied, feeling a bit uncomfortable now. He didn’t quite expect that kind of response.

[[Welllll I'm a jerk. Deal. -shot and glomps- once he gets used to you he'll be nice o3o <3]]
Michael folded his bow and slipped it into his pocket. He had altered it so that it could close and fit into tight places if necessary. His older brother never approved of putting so much time into an instrument, so this worked well.
He didn't like such indirect conversations, not that Michael was helping that fact, "You're a musician?"

[[lol, okay ^^]]
Yong-soo smiled a little more genuinely and shrugged. “More or less… yeah,” he replied, fidgeting with the clasps on his guitar case.
Though he felt a little more at ease, Yong-soo still felt uncomfortable. He sighed as he finally clasped the case shut.

"Lucky." Michael didn't consider himself anymore than a kid with a tendency to mess with things. He figured his lack of a formal education out-shown any talent he had.
"Oh...you have to go now?" He sighed - he never was good with holding conversations, especially with other people. "I-I can show you the way back, if you want..."

“Hm? Oh, maybe a little later… I like it out here.” Yong-soo wanted to delay going back home for as long as possible. His ‘home’ held no special meaning to him whatsoever. It actually made him feel empty and that emptiness made him think about his family…
Yong-soo darkly cursed under his breath and quickly wiped at the tears that had escaped his eyes. The act was deemed useless as more tears came. He turned his head away, breath hitching into his sleeve.

[[SLEEVESSSSS <3]]
Micheal looked up from his violin, surprised at what he found, "Yong-soo?" Muffled gasps of air could be heard in turn with the jerky rise and fall of the other man's shoulders.
Is he...crying? Michael didn't know what to say...how to act, even. He had never seen a man that age breakdown so quick; and in front of a complete stranger, no less!
He wondered what could possibly be wrong. Michael hadn't said anything that harsh, had he?"I-I'm...sorry?" The only thing else he could to was put an arm around the slightly taller male.
'Jeez...'He thought. 'Aniki was right...going out late does draw about strange figures....'

“Gah… s-sorry… i-it’s not your fault… there’s just… something in the past that I regret doing,” Yong-soo said, trying to gain his composure. “I’m not crying because of you…”
He sat there as he calmed down enough to smile weakly. “I’m sorry if I surprised you. It’s just… whenever I think about… them, I just…” Yong-soo’s voice trailed off, not really wanting to continue.

"Home, huh" He sighed. Really, fate was getting a little old with this crappy household deal.
"Well, think of it this way, you have a good 45 minutes before a storm hits, so enjoy yourself." Michael smiled teasingly, hoping it would make Yong-soo feel somewhat better.
Michael noted the identity tag on the guitar case and took a moment to recognize the address. "You live far from here." He looked to him with a small smile, "...if you want, you can stay at my place."

Yong-soo let himself smile a little before letting it fade. “I’d like to… but are you sure you’d be okay with me staying? We’ve only just met, after all…”
Yong-soo looked up at Michael as his finger drew an invisible design onto his guitar case. Of course, he wanted the company but he didn’t want to burden the other because of that.

Michael quickly shook his head, "It's fine! I stay with my brother, I'm sure he won't be that mad since I took a stray puppy home last week and he only yelled for five minutes." He smiled again, it was rare he was able to do so so easily.
He shyly reached over to Yong-soo and ruffled his hair like Aniki did to him so many times before, "You'll just be my stray puppy, okay?"

Yong-soo smiled at the touch. It was the first time anyone ruffled his hair in what seemed like forever. He missed the touch but all he could really do was smile at it.
He sat there, thinking for a while before saying, “Okay. I’ll be your stray puppy.” Yong-soo stood and smiled some more as he slung his guitar case over his shoulder.

Michael stood too, a small frown spreading across his face after noticing the height difference, "Stupid puppy." He flicked Yong-soo's forehead. "You can't be taller than your master"
He smiled, it wasn't often he could play the role of an aniki. Smiling, he teased Yong-soo (whom was a lot more sensitive than he first appeared) as they walked along. "So where do you live? It's rare people come out here, considering the weather and all.."

“Ow…” Yong-soo whined as he pouted and rubbed his forehead. “Well, it isn’t my fault, you know!” He pouted some more as Michael continued to tease him.
“Uh… I live pretty far from here, and I tend to wander around from time to time… I-it’s a bad habit…” Yong-soo replied.
