When the opportunity to ride the train free to evacuate some people to the highlands had shown up, Alfred had decided to take it. It'd go back and forth every so often, so after he made sure that Arthur was alright he was planning on going back down to make sure that everyone in the lowlands was alright--He didn't mind the dangers that this could pose upon himself one bit. This was the first ride up, but there weren't very many people at all on this car of the train. Perhaps there were more in other ones, but right now he was only sharing the car with a middle aged woman and her daughter.
He had talked to them, given the girl some candy to help her calm down, but for now he had taken a seat on the other side down the way, peering out the window. It looked like they were around the middle of the journey...When suddenly the train lurched to a stop. The lights flickered and then finally went out, leaving them in darkness except for what was going on outside. The girl had already started crying, ignoring the attempts of comfort from her mother. It took a bit, but he helped the girl stop crying and then sighed as he moved back to his spot, a hand on his bag. This probably wasn't a good place to be out in the middle of a storm, but...Well, it could have been worse. All he had to do for now is sit tight, though he did glance at the doors, tempted to move through them to check on other passengers. With the power out there was no electricity to keep them closed...

(hope you don't mind me jumping in ) Micheal was just about to call his brother when the service flickered out. Seconds later, the lights were gone and the train had come to a rather jerky halt. " ...?" This wasn't the first time he had seen a train lose it's power, but never that fast. Rail line's usually died out since their tracks worked on multiple energy sources. Flipping out his phone to use as a flashlight, he opened his single cabin door. Rather, kicking it open. The doors were held together by electricity but that didn't make opening them any easier, they were heavy and meant to stay put in times like this. Or so he thought. Michael slipped his cell into his pocket, flipped open so that his screen could provide him light enough to reach the other cabin's door handle. Releasing the safety lock, he yanked it open, hoping no one was leaning towards him on the inside. " Hello?" He called out through the darkness, some sort of a cry coming from the rail car. " Someone in here?"

( Sorry about that. I kind of rage quitted because I tried to post and it didnt take it and deleted it. xDD )
When the door was opened up, the woman and child, wanting to be with other people, moved past Michael into the car he had just left. Alfred watched their forms go in the darkness, squinting, before he arched a brow at the small source of light. "Over here." He responded though, not wanting to be rude when they'd be trapped here for who knew how long.
Searching his pockets, he found the lighter that he usually used for lighting campfires, and flicked the flame on, holding it up enough so it would show his face, which he gave a small wry smile to the other boy. "Just me now though, I think the other two left when you stepped in...The names Alfred." Shifting, he settled back against the seat for the warmth he had left to search for the lighter. The door suddenly slammed shut on its own then from the wind, and he shuddered at the noise a little.

"Michael" The other answered promptly.
Sitting down across from the other male, Michael shut off his phone to save the energy and pulled out a pen. Clicking loose the refill tip, he went to jam the ballpoint into the window's siding.
"Hold that light, will you? If there are any other cars jammed, people will start freaking out. "
