There will be no memory updates this month.
This is to give people a chance to catch up on posting them if they want, and to allow focus on the plot wide plot which (as voted for, as there was a draw!) will be both a meteor shower and a storm.
Telescopes will be placed in the gardens of the Hall to allow all citizens of Solus a chance for a good view of the meteors, and the astronomers are hoping that none will make landfall on the island. With a vicious storm predicted to follow, there will be the usual rush to collect supplies, and shelters will be set up to replace the telescopes to give people with less sheltered homes a place to hide from the storm, as well as emergency housing if the damage is bad. The storm will be a hurricane, and likely to last a day or two.
The board will be active for two months, and if there are any outstanding threads after that I'll lock it to new threads to let people finish off what they're writing. Have fun!

Thanks for this, Mr. Mod-Man -salutes- What parts of the island are they expecting to get hit the hardest? I need a map...

The Lowlands will be hit worst, since they're situated closer to the coast and building standards aren't as stringent in the Highlands, but there's also expected to be some damage done to the Highlands. There's also the possibility that if the storm is particularly bad some of the windmills on the far side of the island will be damaged, or they'll have to temporarily be turned off, causing blackouts in both cities.
