Country: The People's Republic of China
Name: Wang, Yao
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Profession: Heir of a major computers company, entrepreneur
Highlander or Lowlander?: Highlander

Appearance: Yao is 5'7” (169 cm) with a slim build. His long black hair is always tied up in a simple ponytail. Despite being 28 years old, he still looks young like a teenager and very feminine. He has a typical Asian heritage.
He wears simple but formal suits to work in his family's business. When at home or out for some reason, he wears his oriental-based clothing of which he is quite fond of. He visits the Lowland, on the other hand, in casual clothing found there so he cannot be found out or seem superior to the people of that region.
Personality: Yao is a bright and cheery man with the heart of a child. Not the type of person to change so easily; he is hardworking and determined to see things through. He knows the true facts of business and will not hesitate to do what is needed as the heir. Many people consider him as a knowledgeable person and would ask of his advice. He hides the fact that his love for cute things has been increasing since he found a plush toy years ago. Yao does not dare mention it to his family for they may lose face over it. When he is with the kids at the orphanage, he is playful with them all, as if he was their older brother. Granted, most of the kids don't really take him seriously at times but they really do love it when he visits.
Oh also he currently doesn't say aru. As his memory start to return, the verbal tic will return.
History: Born as an heir to a major computer company, Yao was raised and told to do well in everything. Whether it be him having the holding the highest marks in school, being number one in sports, martial arts class, etc. His hard work brought forth many people (including his family) who would pay unneeded attention to him. Most 'friends/ family' would flock to him for help and take advantage of him. Yao merely gave them a fake smile and did what he was told. This kept him pressured into his position as top of his class and never risked anything if not to let down his family's expectations. He also has a shaky and uneasy relationship with his younger cousin, Mingxia. Yao understands that he most likely took the attention of everyone else from her, and if he could, would give it to her in a heartbeat.
In his early 20’s, Yao decided to just get away from everything and everyone having anything to do with the Highlands. Garbed in something ‘normal’ and not so expensive, he found himself where the lowlanders lived and found peace. No one knew who he was and there was no one to take advantage of him. He noticed that everyone was close with the other, despite the fact they lived in poverty. Eventually, experiencing all the good and bad things he found on his journey, he ended up at an orphanage near the outskirts of the city. The kids there were being taken care of by a caring couple and surprisingly, even the gangs of the Lowland stayed away from the place. It was a safe haven for the children. He soon became friends with the couple and volunteered to take care of children in his spare time. This experience brought out his true self without restraints on anything social. It was just him doing what he loved and not what he was told to do. Here he also found his love for children and donated money when he was able to sneak out his savings. This was the beginning of many future visits to that simple place Yao could find peace.
One day, out of the blue, Yao came back with a child from the lowlands, with the intent of adopting him to the Wang family as his younger brother. There was a mix of emotions throughout the Highlands. One side wondered why he would even bother taking a filthy lowlander, much less adopting him into rich family. The others commended him for doing so, gaining unwanted sympathy and fans on the way. Yao ignored all the negativity. He wanted to give this child a choice; the choice to live his life differently than he had before. He nicknamed the boy ‘Shang’ and loved him as if he was his younger brother. They would teach each other many things like the love of nature and finding the best spots to relax in.
Recurring nightmare: Betrayal. It is always someone close to Yao, someone he had always trusted, always talked to, always loved like family. There is nothing he can do but watch the person leave him alone forever, even after all the memories they shared together. He feels a sharp pain in his back and blacks out, waking up to reality. The pain lingers there. He does not understand what that signifies.

Likes:
Cute things: Ever since he found a plush toy, he has been obsessed with cute things. He has a closet filled with these adorable stuffed creatures all organized perfectly for him to see. No one other than him knows the location of this secret closet.
Children: He believes they are cute and his older brother senses awaken. He knows that children are the key to the future and he is determined to help the best he can.
Food: Being raised in the highlands, he grew up eating gourmet food. While he is likely to try new things, sometimes his pickiness comes into play.
Oriental-based: He knows that cultures and religions have been gone for years but he couldn’t help but find comfort in the orient. He thinks that he prefers it because his ancestry was Chinese.
Being himself: He has to put up an air when talking to other Highlanders. He can't be himself in fear of his family's reputation and everything he does is for the family.
Dislikes:
Fake people: Those who want to give him false friendship for the privileges of being friends with a powerful person - those who are not truthful to him.
Those who don't listen or take him seriously: Just because he is still young does not mean that he is not experienced everything. He may know more than that person.
Bad food: If you cook it badly, he will do it for you. Food is second only to family.

Roleplay Sample: Yao sighed, putting the papers he held down to rub his tired eyes. His father, or as they called him, the 'boss', decided to give him more work to do. He had first thought that it was merely practice for what he was to do in the future but finally found out that it was not the case. The company had been firing some incompetent employees for the past few months and currently they were short-handed. And thus the extra work was handed on to him. The stack of papers taunts him as he groans, laying his head on the table. Yao remembered that Mingxia challenged him to another unofficial competition. Granted, he has not lost against her but she has been improving. He'd be glad for her if her skills were not used against him all the time. It was not worth it, but at least he could say he had a rival.
If he could look on the bright side, Yao would think to finish all of the work in order to see his brother, Shang. There were certainly more places in the highlands to show his little brother, or maybe as the sunset came, follow him by sneaking to hear his violin playing. It was a shame that he did not like audiences; the kid was pretty good. Looking back, Yao could easily say Shang has grown well since being adopted. But...there was also something missing. It was hard to tell, his brother rarely showed emotions.
A voice brought him out of his thoughts, “Yao.” He blinked and looked up, it was his father. The man continued, “I hope you have most of the work done, there's no time to be slacking off,”
Yao stood up and bowed to his father, “Of course I am. Here is what I have so far, father,” He handed the bigger stack of papers to him, “The papers on top are the most important. It holds classified information and must be looked upon ASAP.”
The older man nods in acknowledgment as he took the stack. “Good. Keep up the work then,” Yao kicks back in his seat as the man walked off; at least his father could thank him or something.
He was probably showing his love in his own little way, if mother spoke the truth.
Yao shrugged it off before going back to work. Once he finished, he decided, he should look for his brother and visit the kids. It's been awhile since he seen them.
