Timo made a happy noise as he entered the market area. He took in a deep breath, enjoying the mingled scent of people, the stalls and the blooming flowers. He loved the winter and the beautiful way that the land was covered in snow in the deep of it, but at the same time he loved spring to, and the way that everything took on new life, filling the otherwise somewhat dull city with light and love. Besides which, as the seasons passed towards summer and the storms died down a little in ferocity Timo didn’t have to worry quite so much about his estranged father, who he did still care for.
The spring festival in particular brought back fond memories for the young man, as they’d used to come as a family. Both of his parents would have a day’s holiday, and the four of them would catch a transport boat with someone Timo’s father knew from work up the river to the top of the island. These days Timo got the train by himself, but that didn’t stop it from being special to him, and he moved from stall to stall with the wonder of a child, admiring each of the objects on offer, even when he found a few that he himself had been busy making over the last few weeks.
This was his one day off until the parade, though, and there was a serious task that the young man needed to do. Later he’d go and have another attempt on winning the hoopla game, where the star prize was, and had been for as long as he could remember, a huge white cuddly dog. He must have wasted hundreds of Sol over the years trying to win it, never to any avail. The shooting games too, Timo was particularly good at, so when he finally lost hope with the hoopla game he’d go and win something there, but first he had to find lanterns for the parade.
There had been a few years when he couldn’t afford lanterns at all, but last year the money from his second job had meant that he had been able to buy three: one for Solus and the people of the old world as was traditional, one for his mother and one for his grandfather. He’d carried them all up, set off the first, then assembled and released the second two together, and he wanted to do the same this year. For him it was just a way of celebrating their lives and remembering them, and he smiled fondly, adjusting the white beret on his head a little. Glancing around, he spotted the area where all of the stalls with the lanterns would be and headed over, already thinking about what he might buy this year. Perhaps something with painted flowers on for his mother, and one with dogs for his grandfather. He’d saved money carefully over the year in the hope that he might be able to get their names painted on too this year. Thinking about it with a happy smile on his face, he failed to look where he was going, and only noticed that the person in front had stopped when he walked into their back.
“Oh!” Timo blushed brightly, reaching out to steady himself and the other person. “I’m sorry! Are you all right?”

In Vittorio's experience, people liked having flowers during the Spring. Maybe it was because that was when flowers first started to look the most beautiful, but Vittorio didn't really know or care. Because to him the flowers were always at their most beautiful! Either way, he knew that other people liked having flowers this time of year. And so, whenever Spring came around, he set to walking around and giving people flowers to brighten their days.
Really, he should have been selling the flowers, but he couldn't bring himself to ask for money for them. Mostly because he was frequently giving them to cute girls rather than to just anyone passing by. But partly because it just felt really nice to give people something that would make them happier. His boss at the flower shop might not like that he was growing flowers to give away for free, but Vittorio had never heard him complain - or had simply not paid attention when he did - and so he was sure it was alright for him to keep doing what he was doing.
Today was the same as any other Spring day he had free. Vittorio was wandering the streets, passing out flowers and smiling forever. He was walking by an area where they were selling lanterns when he was suddenly very distracted by an exceedingly pretty girl passing by. Without a moment's hesitation, Vittorio came to a stop and was about to call out to the girl, already starting to hold out a flower, when he felt something solid collide with his back and he stumbled forward a bit, scrambling to keep a hold on his flowers so that they didn't tumble to the ground.
It only took Vittorio a few moments to recover from the bump and he turned to see the man who had bumped him, apologizing and looking rather flustered. Had Vittorio been anyone else, he may have been at least a tiny bit upset. But, being Vittorio, it was only a brief moment before he was smiling brightly and holding out the very same flower he had been about to offer to the pretty girl - a white daisy.
"I'm-a fine! Being bumped doesn't-a hurt! It's-a no big deal." It was ... fairly obvious that he wasn't faking any of his grinning optimism. "Here! Have a daisy. There's-a no hard feelings."
He hoped the poor man wouldn't stay upset by this, because really Vittorio didn't mind being bumped. To him, it meant that he got to meet someone new and interesting! A good distraction. In fact, he had, at this point, completely forgotten that there had been a cute girl nearby at all...
((OOC: Aaaah, I hope you don't mind Vittorio jumping in here... XD; It just seemed to perfect and cute... >_>))

At least the young man that Timo had walked into seemed a friendly one! Timo still glanced over him to make sure that he was all right, though, smiling when he saw that silly curl of hair. He wanted to reach out and pet it down! He resisted the urge, though, taking a step back so he wasn’t quite as close. The other’s smile certainly went a good way to reassuring him and Timo couldn’t help but smile brightly back. He probably wouldn’t have been able to tell if it was a fake smile, but he was still very happy to see it. Still, the daisy surprised him, and he blinked at it, the offer not helping the blush that was still staining his cheeks.
“For me? Are you sure?” He reached out to take it, admiring the delicate petals, and then looked up at the other man with another bright, happy smile. “Thank you very much!” He paused for a moment, and then carefully tucked it into his shirt pocket where it wouldn’t get crushed and other people would be able to admire the pretty flower. It was a pity that he didn’t have something to give the other man in return! He glanced at all of the other flowers that the man was carrying as well, taking in their bright colours. “Are you here to sell them?” He wondered out loud, nodding towards them.
Blinking, Timo realised that he hadn’t introduced himself, and he quickly offered a hand. “Oh, I’m Timo Väinämöinen! And I’m still very sorry for having walked into you.” He said, a hint of a blush still on his cheeks. “I should have been paying better attention to where I was going.” He did continue to smile brightly, though. At least his clumsiness had brought the potential of a new friend! After all, it didn’t matter how you met people, it was just important that you did.
((No, I don't mind, he's so cute! Thank you for replying!))

[[ Mind if I join in here? Mingxia's just gonna be herping a derp and running around checking on the stalls she technically owns. XD
But might I add, she's Vittorio's age and very pretty? like the rest of the Hetalia girls trololo ]]

Mingxia looked out at the throng of people from the safe haven of one of the stands she was operating. That is, she operated them by proxy; there were a few more booths that were in her name, but she had people running them. The little shop she manned was selling paper for those making lanterns, and boy, was she making bank. Most of the other paper sellers only had solid colors and simple patterns, but Mingxia had gotten hold of some beautiful floral prints. It was a shame that they were going so fast for so little... But it wouldn't fly off the shelves so quickly if she raised the price at all. It was a price to pay for staying ahead of a trend.
It occurred to her then that she should check in with the next booth over, one that she also owned. She had turned her head and was about to call out to the girl running it, when her booth suddenly shook and was shunted forward a few inches. When she looked back... Nightmare. Worst case scenario having become reality.
Her cash pouch was gone. Nicked while her back was turned- the biggest blunder she could make in any business she ran.
She was over the counter in an instant, tearing in the direction that a man was running in. "Dohng diam!" she called, as she passed two boys who were apologizing for walking into each other. Stop!, it meant, not that she was consciously thinking of how she knew the phrase. "Thief! He's got my money! Catch that man!"
She was starting to run out of steam, slowing to a stop and bending to lean on her knees. She sincerely hoped someone was chasing the thief since she couldn't. If not... Mingxia was starting to cry. There was almost S150 in that bag, she couldn't lose it...! Her parents would be so disappointed, her father, her uncle... Yao. She couldn't stop making money, not when she had to outsell him...

[[ hi-ho -salutes- hope you don't mine me joining in with the party here! ]]
Michael had wandered off that day, much to his brother's dismay, looking for firecrackers(what a surprise). It was nearing time for the Solus parade, which meant it was also a time for celebration. And there was no better end to that equation than the selling of noise makers of all sorts - firecrackers included. However, this time around seemed a tad off. The market area was usually crowded with all sorts of people, that's what made it such an interesting place. But today it was a little louder than normal.
"Dohng diam!"
Michael looked up from one of the stands. A few others had turned way to the rather obnoxious girl. "What's her problem?"[/b], He wondered. Out of all the streets he could have chosen to shop in, of course he would end up with a robbery.
The Asian man sighed and took a step back to analyze the situation: 1.) Chase after the jerk and retrieve the wallet. Possibly risking a street fight which equaled out to a very, very worried Aniki. or 2.) Continue on as he was and buy some firecrackers to play with later on during the festival. Which not only equaled out to a happy, oblivious Aniki, but also that fluffy little feeling you get in your stomach when you choose your own interest over another person's well being.
Michael decided to go with option 1.

((Woooosh, so many people! XD Sorry I'm late with my reply here. <3))
To be perfectly honest, Vittorio was already starting to head towards the point of distraction. It wasn't because he didn't have an interest in the man who had bumped into him, but more because it was just really difficult to keep Vittorio's interest for a very long time. But that didn't mean he was going to be consciously rude. Only unconsciously, if he suddenly didn't realize that he was talking to someone and stopped answering. Thankfully, that wasn't happening quite yet.
"Huh? Oh, no, I don't-a sell them!" He followed this response with a bright smile. "They're for free! Because everyone needs some flowers."
His fingers were fiddling with one of the other flowers in his basket - a violet - as his eyes scanned over the people in the area. Almost as if he were already searching for the next person who was going to receive a flower. But his attention was once again pulled back to the man in front of him. He didn't mind in the slightest and he smiled ever more brightly.
"It's-a nice to meet you! I'm-a Vittorio. Vittorio Vargas. And you really shouldn't worry. If you keep-a worrying, you'll never stop!" He laughed, obviously never having worried very much about anything in his life. It was at this point that he noticed that Timo just kept blushing. "Hey. Your face... it's-a all red!" He seemed quite fascinated by this observation and leaned in a little closer to get a better look.
It was at that moment, though, that a girl started shouting - something about someone stealing something from her - and Vittorio was once again distracted. His head turned quickly to look at the girl and he tilted it slightly. He knew he couldn't catch anyone who had just stolen something, but he also knew that he could easily comfort a girl who was upset! "That's-a so sad," he commented, turning to face Timo again. "Do you think we should go make her feel better?"

It was a really cute idea to come and give out flowers, Timo had to admit. He’d love to be able to bring happiness to people like that! If he could afford flowers, he’d certainly rather give them out to other people than to keep them for himself, but Timo had spent all year saving up just to buy his lanterns. He couldn’t waste money on things like flowers, unfortunately. He’d like to be able to, one day. “That’s really nice of you!” He praised, happily, always quick to give compliments.
Timo only blushed darker when Vitrorio leant in. He liked people, but he wasn’t sure exactly how to react to that! “A-ah, well, I’ll try not to worry!” He promised, smiling brightly. He at least didn’t worry about himself, just other people. He was about to ask if Vittorio had just come up to give out his flowers or if he had shopping to do as well, but was distracted as someone cried out beside them. Timo looked around, surprised. Stopping beside them was a young lady, clearly out of breath, and as he looked up again, he spotted the disappearing back of some one trying to run away. He hardly needed to hear her calling thief before he realised what had happened, and
By the time Vittorio turned around, Timo had already taken off, running after the man. “A-ah, you go talk to her, I’ll be back!” He called out to him over his shoulder, but quickly disappeared into the crowd. He had his eyes fixed on the other man. Timo was by no standards a runner, but he had the advantage of being small and being able to relatively easily slip through between the people. He became aware of someone else running with him, and he risked a glance over. He saw a boy, perhaps even taller than he was, with dark eyes, but didn’t have time to look any more, having to turn his attention back to the man that he was following so that he didn’t lose him.
Know that he knew that someone else was chasing him too, Timo felt happier to take a risk, knowing that if he failed the boy might still be able to catch him. It was probably just as well. Timo was starting to get a little out of breath. He really wasn’t built for this. Putting on a last turn of speed, he pushed himself forward just as they emerged into a clear spot, and then physically threw himself at the thief. He struggled to get a hold, hands grasping at his clothes and body, but he had at least slowed him considerably, and if the other boy could just get a hold, between the two of them they should be able to stop him.
((I took off the open so we can keep it to the four of us, otherwise I thought it might get a bit crowded!))

(( Smart lad! <3 ))
Mingxia was crying softly when she felt someone brush past her, seemingly giving chase to the thief. As she tried to look on, she saw a tall boy with a dark head of hair. Isn't that...? Michael? What was her cousin's adoptive brother doing here? Another boy swept past her, this time fairer and smaller.
She sighed, not even bothering to wonder who it was (not that she knew him anyway), and made her way back to her little booth. Luckily no one had seen fit to nick anything else; and thankfully the other booth girl was watching both of the stalls. She collapsed onto her chair and just sat for a moment.

Michael was rather surprised; it was quite rare you found one who could outrun a blood-made Lowlander. He watched as the shorter man struggled to retrieve whatever sort of handbag the girl had been carrying. "It sure must be important." He thought. But Michael was never one to surrender a round and decided to jump in with the two after catching up.
"Oi!" The thief was not only a mug, but a super ugly one too. "You should know by now it's not good to steal things. Especially when people can catch you. Idiot."
Michael smirked and grabbed the man's arms, twisting it so that he wouldn't be able to wrangle free. "Grab the wallet!" He shouted to the other, his voice rising above his usual monotone. "Now!"
"Che..." Michael wasn't sure if they were his thoughts or his words, "...this is too troublesome."

Timo dodged a violent kick, a last ditch attempt to escape, and lost his grip on the man in the process. He reached out again, hoping that, just maybe, he might be able to catch him again, but he was surprised when he did actually get a hold on him. Looking up, he saw that the other man had managed to get a hold on him, locking him in a deadlock, and Timo let out a sigh of relief. He scrambled up to his feet, and wasn’t sure what exactly to do next. The command made him jump, and he looked at the boy, before nodding, grabbing the bag and holding onto it securely.
“You shouldn’t steal things!” The other boy had already reprimanded him, but Timo felt that he should too. “It’s a horrible thing to do!” He paused, not sure exactly what to do now. After all, if they just let the thief go he might try and steal things from someone else! Fortunately, though, the ruckus had attracted the attention of the police. Timo had always trusted and believed in the police, not believing the rumours he’d heard about corruption. And besides, these were the Highland’s police, there were no bad rumours about them!
He was more than happy to hand the thief over to them, and then he glanced at the boy who had helped him and smiled brightly. He looked younger than his height would have suggested. “Thank you! We should go and find the lady and give her her bag back.” Timo said, happily, still holding on tightly to the bag. He didn’t want anything else to happen to it!

Well, would you look at that? With Timo just disappearing like that, it meant that Vittorio could go comfort the poor girl to his heart's content. And, of course, he had just the thing to comfort any girl in any situation. It was a good thing he had been giving out flowers today, otherwise he wouldn't have had nearly a wide enough variety of them on him to pull this off properly!
As the girl made her way back to her booth, Vittorio quickly followed her. That shouldn't come off as creepy, right? Because he was bringing her something pretty! When she sat down, Vittorio was right there in front of her, smiling as widely as he possibly could and holding out a hydrangea to her, very courteously.
"Ciao! Aren't-a you pretty? Did that man steal your money? Don't-a worry, my good friend Timo went after him. Here's a flower for you, that-a should make everything better!"

"You shouldn't steal things! That's a horrible thing to do!"
Michael sighed as the police were called over. He had never committed (or you could say, 'had been caught committing') any legal crime in his life. Really, he had no need to. As a highlander, everything and anything you could want was given to you. But despite his clean record, the showing of the fuzz gave him chills.
"Thank you! We should go and find the lady and give her her bag back.[/b]”
Nodding to the man, Michael remembered something, "That screaming girl, that was Aniki's...cousin?". He wasn't sure; He knew the woman looked familiar but Aniki's family was just a pain to remember, their names all sounded the same - figured he could just say 'Wang' and the whole party'd respond.
"Yes, I'll give it to her."

Mingxia blearily looked up at the boy offering her a flower. "E-eh...? Th-thank you..." she stammered, blushing as she took the flower. She reached up to compare it to the bloom in her hair. The lily she had put in before setting up the stall had been worn down to say the least, and the little hydrangea blossoms the boy had given her were so beautiful... The pale blue color matched her blouse perfectly, even...
Mingxia picked a few blossoms off so the ball was flatter on one side and found the bobby pin from her lily, pinning it by the main stem into her hair. "That's very kind of you... both of you," she said, looking up and immediately blushing. Goodness, was this boy cute! Why on earth was he talking to her? "It's really my fault my cash bag was stolen, though... my back was turned." She looked down, shame painting an unflattering aura over her face. "I know better than to leave anything unattended, it was stupid of me..."

Blinking as the other boy said that he'd return it to her, Timo smiled brightly and offered him the bag. It wasn't perhaps the smartest thing that he'd ever done, but Timo trusted him. After all, he'd just helped him to chase down the thief! Why would he run off with it now? Mind you, even if he hadn't helped him Timo probably would have given it to him. He was just far too trusting. "I'll come with you, though." He said, still smiling. After all, he'd run off without saying goodbye to Vittorio properly!
Turning around, he looked back over his shoulder, looking for that curl of hair that'd stand out in a crowd. He didn't see him immediately, and his face fell a little, but he figured that they should just head back to where they'd left him. Turning back to the other boy, he smiled at him. "Come on, I think they're back here somewhere." He said, before starting to lead him that way.
"Thank you for your help, by the way! I think we worked well together." Timo beamed at the young man, just happy that they'd succeeded. "I'm Timo Väinämöinen, it's nice to meet you!" He introduced himself for the second time that day. It was good to make new friends!

Aaaah, she looked so pretty with that flower in her hair like that! Vittorio's smile got even bigger - if that was even possible - and he watched her blushing face very closely. Watching a cute girl blush was always a treat in his mind. When she looked down, a frown line briefly creased Vittorio's forehead, but it disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared and he suddenly crouched down in front of the girl, looking up at her and cupping her chin with one hand.
"Don't-a blame yourself. There's-a no reason why it's-a your fault. Some people just don't-a know how to be good people. It's-a okay though! Because you're a good person, right?" His smile was still firmly planted on his face and he sounded very much like he meant every word he had said.
Shifting his hand slightly, Vittorio brushed some hair out of the girl's face and tucked it behind her ear. "I'm-a sure that everything will be fine! And now this will never happen again, right? Because you'll-a be even more extra careful!" He looked up at her with wide, earnest eyes. And he really hoped that it was helping to calm her down. Because a cute girl being distraught was no good at all.

Mingxia froze as his hand came to her chin, blushing furiously. H-how forward! She surely didn't deserve such affection, she wasn't even that pretty... "But I turned my back! It's clearly my fault..." She sighed. He clearly wasn't going to take that for an answer. Mingxia nodded a little. "Xi, I'm a good person," she said, chuckling, only to clam up again when he swept some hair out of her face. Sh-she didn't even know his name! Why is he being so flirtatious?
"I suppose so..." she agreed mutely, nodding. "I won't be letting it out of my sight again, that's for certain..." He really was being so sweet, making sure she calmed down.

Michael slung the bag over his shoulder, quite a strange take in action for a person such as him. Nevertheless, he didn't run for it. Tempted, but no.
"Thank you for your help, by the way! I think we worked well together." The other man was at least a head under him, but his seemingly uniform grin made up for it. His constant expression appeared rather atrocious to Michael, who really never understood the courtesy of a smile. "I'm Timo Väinämöinen, it's nice to meet you!"
"Timo...Bah." He stopped there in the road to think, his hand over his mouth as if he was some sort of detective lighting a pipe, "Timo. I can't say your last name. My name is Michael, it isn't that hard."
"My last name isn't actually mine so I won't tell it to you."The straightforwardness of the introduction made it seem like some sort of federal dealing. Michael continued on walking, holding the bag tight as if it was his own. "The girl whom's this belongs is my relative."

Watching the girl blush was an awful lot of fun for Vittorio. He wondered if it was because of him or because of her purse. He liked to think that it was because of him. It made him feel better about himself. But at the very least she seemed to actually be calming down, and that had been the goal all along, so Vittorio was very pleased.
"Well, that's a good thing!" he responded when she said she wouldn't let the purse out of her sight again. "It's-a best to prepare!" Not that he ever prepared for anything himself, but whatever.
For a quick moment, Vittorio let his eyes meet the girl's, and he smiled brilliantly before stroking her cheek with his thumb once and then suddenly straightening up and turning around to peer towards where his new friend had disappeared. "I wonder if he's-a coming back soon," he commented, with the air of someone who was simply commenting on the oddness of the weather.
