Slowly Alfred nodded at that, looking at the two toothbrushes next to eachother curiously before he held on him, letting him tug him. "Mn...Kay...I think at least one of them tore cause I moved so fast though.." He responded, trying to help him to know what to expect at least. The process was rather slow, but eventually they made it, and Alfred was kind of happy to be back there, even if part of him was whining and wanting to move around.
Sitting down on the edge of the bed, Alfred shifted and then looked at Arthur, ignoring the sweat he felt on his forehead, and then rubbed his eyes. "Do you want me to lay back or stay sitting up?" He asked, a hand on the edge to grip there to make sure he stayed upright.

Arthur was patient enough to let Alfred take it step by step, but mostly because he was terrified of him hurting himself again. "I can see that. You're bleeding again." Arthur told him, softly as he supported as much of Alfred's weight as he could. He even helped the younger man to sit down again, slowly lowering him into the bed.
"Why don't you lie down again?" Arthur suggested, suspecting that it would be easier for Alfred that way. With his arms still around him, Arthur was able to help guide Alfred back to the pillows, sitting down beside him and reaching out to start undoing the bandages around Alfred's chest so he could see what damage he'd done to himself this time.
"Does it hurt much?" Arthur asked as he worked, glancing up briefly to meet Alfred's eyes, and then frowning when he saw sweat on the other's forehead. Leaning in, he used the sleeve of his shirt to wipe it off, making a note to help Alfred wash a little once he was patched up again.

Alfred blinked at that, and paused to glance down. "Hn...So I am." He decided, not sounding bothered by it at all as he then continued. Nodding at the suggestion, Alfred let him help him and he shivered as soon as he lay down, the sheets a bit cold now, before looking up at him. Letting the long thin fingers get to the bandages, he kind of attempted to watch as well to see how bad it was.
"Um...A little. It's not as bad as before though.." He lied, surprisingly good at it of course, but his eyes closed as the sleeve wiped his forehead off, sighing softly in pleasure. Only one of the wounds stitches had pulled, and it was open. The one near his collar bone had only snapped a bit at the top, and the other one was sewn tightly still, and he faintly hummed. "Well I can tell you sew at least." He joked.

Tucking the sheets over Alfred's legs at least, Arthur frowned as he uncovered the damage that Alfred had done. "I can get you more painkillers once I've patched you up again." He offered, leaning in a little to get a better look, and then frowning. Standing up, he went to the windows. "I'm opening the curtains." He warned Alfred, a moment before pulling them. With light now flooding the room he returned to his seat, and was able to pick out the torn threads with his nails. "It's just as bloody well I sew." Arthur muttered, voice heavy with concern for Alfred.
"I don't want to stitch you up again, and that's the shallowest one." Arthur said, eyeing it. "Let me put a fresh bandage on, and we'll keep pressure on it, but if it's still bleeding in half an hour I'll stitch it up again." He said, sighing. He didn't want to put Alfred through that pain again. There were still some bandages left from the ones he'd torn the night before, and Arthur took them, making sure the one around the open wound was particularly tight.
Once that was done, he sat back and ran his fingers through his own hair, closing his eyes for a moment. "I'll have to run to the shops and get some bandages. I can see if I can get some stronger painkillers too." He said, looking at Alfred. He was sure he was in more pain than he was letting him see.

"Mm..." Alfred mumbled in response, then groaned at the bright light of the sun. Turning his head from it with his eyes closed, he waited for them to adjust, letting Arthur do as he pleased while he shivered at the sensation. "Alright,...I can take the pain though. I had to sew myself up once." He mumbled the last bit, but let him do as he pleased.
Hiding a wince he gripped on the pillow at the touches to the wound, but then faintly nodded, smiling. "I'll probably just take a nap till you get back then...Not really in the mood to get up and steal your stuff." he joked once again, then finally looked at him properly, eyes finally good with the light. "Sorry about makin you run around though.." The older man probably had been working.

Looking at Alfred, Arthur frowned. "Just because you can deal with the pain doesn't mean you should. I'm sure I've told you that before." He told him, concerned for Alfred. "I'd rather not put you through it if we don't have to. Believe it or not, I am worried for you."
He could see that his ministrations were hurting Alfred, so he tried to be as quick and smooth as possible, not wanting to prolong the pain or jerk Alfred. "I wasn't going to go immediately." He said, with a chuckle. "I mean, not unless you need to sleep now. I can go when you next sleep. I was actually going to ask if you wanted something to eat." Perhaps just after throwing up wasn't the best time to ask, but Arthur was still trying to do his best to make Alfred eat. "Or I can make you something to drink?" He'd actually brought Alfred coffee one of the last times that the young man had visited, but he didn't plan on making him anything caffeinated now. "I have some berries I could make into a smoothie?" It wasn't something that he'd usually drink himself, but it'd be close enough of a meal, and hopefully in a more palatable form.

"No you haven't." Alfred replied, pouting a bit. Did Arthur think he was some kinda wuss or something? He sulked at the thought but dealt with the pain, humming out. "Ah ok..Mm...Not that tired.." He mumbled, despite his eyes saying otherwise, but he shook his head at the question. "Mmn...I dunno..."
He was getting tired of just water, plus it was just not very fun to throw up. Looking up at him, he blinked then cocked his head. "...Nmn...Alright." He agreed. "Can we watch another movie too...? Or um, do you need to go back to working. "Alfred was enjoying watching thigns with Arthur, it was something he hadn't done with another person since his family.

Arthur knew that Alfred wasn't a wuss. It was obvious to see. But that still didn't mean that he wanted him to suffer when it could be avoided. He waited for Alfred to decide what he wanted, and smiled when Alfred decided. "I'll go and make that, then put a DVD on, does that sound all right?" He offered, happily. He did have work to do, but he was sure that he'd find a chance to do it at some other point, and he still had a couple of days to get it done anyway.
Rather than moving to the kitchen, though, he moved to his bookshelf and picked up a book from the shelf, offering it to Alfred. "I was suggested this by someone at the newspaper, and I thought you might like it too." He said. "It's quite good." It was an old book, one from before WWIII, called 'Good Omens'.

Watching as Arthur moved, Alfred felt a bit pleased that he seemed to like the idea. However, he cocked his head when he found a book instead, but accepted it,looking at it curiously before he read the plot curiously. "Huh...This 's pretty old, yeah?" Still, the plot did intrigue him... "I'll start reading after the movie."
Setting it to the side for now, he smiled up at Arthur and kept a hand resting on it, kind of liking the slight elevation it provided before he stretched his legs. They were going to start falling asleep if he was laying down so much...He doubted it but maybe he could talk Arthur into rubbing them just so that he didnt have to worry about that and they got circulated properly.

Watching Alfred look over the book, Arthur tipped his head curiously, wondering how he'd take it. "Yeah, it's from before Solus." He explained, with a little smile. "Set in England, actually. But there's some notes in it which explains some of it, ones from the actual authors. Apparently some of the information was very specific to the UK?" Arthur found it a little difficult to imagine that, just because even with the High/Low split there was really little cultural difference between anyone.
Now that he had the book to keep him occupied, Arthur finally let Alfred be and padded away into the kitchen. Fortunately for the for the younger man there was little even a cook like Arthur could do to ruin a smoothie, so while the result was a bit brown and sludgy, it didn't taste too bad. Grabbing the next DVD from the pile where his TV normally sat, he carried the glass back into the bedroom and offered it to Alfred before going to set the film up.

"Wow...This is pretty rare. You sure you don't mind me reading it?" He remembered his uncle always got mad at him when he tried to look at his old books...However he was thinking along the same likes as Arthur, curious and surprised by that. Opening it, hesettled back, starting to read and slowly smiling as he read.
He was almost finished with the second chapter when Arthur returned, but then he finished quickly, shutting the book and then accepting the smoothie with a smile. "Thank you." Settling back, he sipped on it, making a small noise at the taste while he watched Arthur as he got the film ready. "Which movie is this one?"

"It's not an original print." Arthur said with a chuckle. "Besides, unless you're planning to do some serious damage to it..." Alfred hadn't been too rough to any of his books in the past, so he was sure t would be fine.
Leaning over as he returned, he glanced at the page that he'd been on, taking it in. Alfred was a quick reader, it was something that Arthur had noticed before, but he was impressed. "Another one of the old cartoons." He told him, as he put the DVD into place. "Up. Have you seen it?" As he returned, he offered Alfred the case, sliding back into place beside him. He was getting more comfortable with sitting so close to Alfred, and wondered if Alfred was too.
"What did you think of the book so far?" He asked, as he skipped to the menu. "You're reading it quickly." He paused for a minute rather than starting so Alfred would have a chance to reply without talking over the opening.

"Still pretty rare since not that many people are interested in this kind of thing.." He chuckled, but accepted the dvd case all the same, looking at it curiously, shaking his head in response to the question. He didnt really think much of the sitting much, not really caring too much about it, but he smiled then at the next question.
"So far...It's pretty great. I'm amused and I'm only two chapters in to it." He chuckled. "Not to mention the information I'm picking up about the old UK is pretty cool and interesting too." Nodding he finished reading that, smiling at what was probably in store for him before he snuggled down into the pillows, sipping the smoothie with much more eagerness than he was for solid foods.

Nodding, Arthur smiled. He'd been interested in that side too. It was one thing to read about what things were like, but another to read something so immersed in a world that seemed entirely alien. He was pleased to see that Alfred seemed a bit more content with the smoothie than he had been anything else too, and settled in happily to watch, finally pressing play.
He enjoyed the film immensely, though the beginning montage made him bite his lip to keep the tears back. As it finished, he looked towards Alfred, wondering if that had been enough to send him to sleep again or not. He didn't say anything until he knew if Alfred was awake or not, because he didn't want to disturb him if he was asleep.

The film was just as interesting to him, and Alfred actually made it until the end. However, just before the credits he could stay awake no longer and dozed off. The glass was held in against his chest securely so he wouldn't drop it, and it was 1/3 full, his stomache unable to take the rest.
Shifting, his head faintly leaned to the other side, his legs lightly shifting as well, and the glass slipped slightly before by reflex he held onto it closer, not letting it tip and the contents spill out. A faint mumble also escaped, but it was obvious that he wasn't quite to deep sleep, so any movement would probably wake him again. In fact, a sudden rise in the music made him frown lightly, and his nose twitched, already starting to wake up a bit.

Smiling fondly at the sleeping boy, Arthur reached out to take the glass and put it somewhere safe. He was glad that he'd drunk most of it, that would probably help him. He didn't want to wake him, he looked so peaceful sleeping, and he turned the TV down to try and help Alfred stay asleep a little longer. He tried not to move any more, though, still hoping that he'd sleep.
Leaning against the head of the bed, he watched Alfred with a soft smile. He couldn't deny that he was getting fond of Alfred, though he wasn't sure just how fond he was getting. It was... difficult. Love wasn't something that he was sure of, or something he'd experienced. He couldn't deny that Alfred was attractive, that wasn't the point. But with Alfred as he was.... there was no way he could let himself fall in love. He sighed, and stroked Alfred's hair. For now his primary concern was helping Alfred to get better anyway.

The fingers fell when the thing they were gripping no longer was there, and lightly they twitched, as if attempting to grip it still, like it had suddenly shrunk or something. Of course he was unaware of Arthurs inner thoughts, but for now the stroking did feel kind of good, and he smiled faintly in his sleep with a quiet mumble.
His head leaned a bit more into his hand, but otherwise he remained as he was, his hand limp on his own chest while the other was lightly laying back on the pillow, palm exposed. After a few minutes, he frowned though, head moving and lightly whimpering in his sleep, obviously having a bad dream. The open hand clenched into a fist, and he started squirming a bit, fighting against whatever was happening.

Surprised that Alfred not only stayed asleep, but seemed to relax even more into it, Arthur was pleased none the less. The little smile encouraged him, and Arthur leant in a little more, continuing to stroke his hair, enjoying having him close without worrying about him startling. The frown made Arthur frown as well, though. He hesitated, unsure how to respond to Alfred's nightmare, then reached out to take his hand, holding it lightly and soothing the back of it.
"Shh... Shh, Alfred you're safe." He reassured him softly, still stroking his hair. "It's just a dream, you're safe." Leaning forward, he kissed the young man's head protectively, then squeezed his hand as he sat back up, not wanting Alfred to wake with him leaning over him like that. "I'll protect you, Alfred."

The younger man faintly cuddled more into Arthur, just enjoying the stroking--It felt like what his mother would do when she would stay after reading him a story to sleep because his dad would stay out so long...Another louder whimper slipped out as Arthur took his hand, but the hand weakly gripped it in his sleep, a small sob slipping out while he looked distressed. Obviously he wasn't having a very good rest now, and he was starting to squirm more, opening one of the wounds that just barely started to scab a bit.
The reassurances did next to nothing--he couldn't see or hear him, but the kiss did make his leg kick, oddly enough. Suddenly he jolted, sitting up quickly while his eyes were open, wide and panicked while tears were rolling down his cheeks. He didnt even seem to notice Arthur or the fact that he was holding his hand at first before he glanced over, calming as he looked around and remembered where he was, but not still out of the panicked state, and he quickly reclaimed his hand just to start tearing at the bandages--He needed tosee, to make sure he was still connected in one piece. It was that dream again, that painful, mortifying dream that he'd had since he was old enough to think coherently.

Curling in a little closer to Alfred, Arthur was unsure what to do. He cuddled the other man in a little, as much as he dared and continued to stroke his hair, but was unsure whether or not to try and wake him. In the end, though, it was too much to watch him tossing and turning, and he gently shook him. "Alfred, wake up." He said.
As Alfred woke so suddenly, Arthur jumped, jolting away. For a moment he was wide eyed and startled, just watching Alfred, but as Alfred pulled his hand away and started to pull the bandages off, Arthur quickly reached out to stop him. "Alfred, Alfred, stop. You're all right, you're safe." He told him, trying to reassure him. Shifting in a little closer, he tried to gently push Alfred back to the bed and put his hand lightly on the boy's chest. "You're all right." He reassured him.
